I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was quite impressed with the new Snell balls in the Tour Test pack. Both balls did what I needed them to do. The PR4 was my favorite of the 2, but there was nothing wrong with the PR3. I played the yellow balls, they were durable and held up well. I played a PR4 for at least 18 holes before losing it and it held up the whole time. Some yellow balls will chip very easily, no the PR series tour balls.
Went with 3 , good off the driver , very similar around the green to prov1 , enough that I bought the Snell , to save a few bucks
I tried both balls. I found the PR4 more to my liking. It lived up to its billing as a tour-quality ball. Less spin and a lower ball flight of the driver. Iron shot reacted like I was expecting, more of a stop with very little release on the greens.
PR3's had more spin off the driver for me. I felt like it had a higher, more spinning flight. It reacted the same on the green, stopping quickly and sometimes backing up.
Both balls had a good feel off of both driver and irons but the PR4 seemed to work best.
This Pr4 version was perfect yesterday, even in the high winds, it held its intended path. Two really good par 5 shots with a 3 wood, stuck and held the green!
Green side, chipping and pitching performed as good as I can do with any tour balls I have tried.
Can’t be more impressed with this version. The cover held up very nice as well.
Will be trying the PR3 tomorrow out of this sample pack, but I’m sure it will play fine. I hit my 7 iron 155 yards for reference so I wasn’t too sure about the 4 piece, but
Great job Dean and crew!
