Could be the best 4-piece Urethane ball ever!
Although I wrote brief reviews of both of the new Snell balls (PR3 and PR4) when I received the sample pack with two sleeves of each, here is a more detailed review of the PR4 which has definitely turned out to be my favorite:
The PR4 is, for me, a long and relatively straight ball (the golf swing is going to greatly influence flight and trajectory, but this ball seems to work very hard to tame my predominant miss, which is a hook or pull-hook). It is definitely on the "firm" side, but that's the type of ball feel that I prefer. Off the driver and fairway woods, I am finding that the PR4 generates lower than average spin, which contributes to greater distance off the tee if you have sufficient clubhead speed, which I definitely do, particularly for an "old guy". However, once you get to the scoring clubs (9-iron through the wedges for me), this ball generates plenty of usable spin, and I have hit many great "drop and stop" shots while using it. I also never thought that I would find a better "wind cheater" golf ball than the Seed SD-02, but this ball is it's equal -- or better!
Two bonus benefits of the Snell PR4 ball are its durability (fantastic for a Urethane cover ball) and the extremely bright white color, which makes it very easy to spot.
Overall, I may just have found a new all-time favorite golf ball in this PR4 model!

PR4 golf ball
I do like the PR4 much better than the PRIME 4.0. Cover is definitely more durable. Shots feel solid and have a nice sound. I still don't think it quite has the same spin as a Pro V1, however. I have 4 dozen PRIME 4.0's in the closet that I would be happy to send in for the PR4's! :)

Part 1 - In the Sim, before the course
The only improvements on the 4.0 that I was looking for (played the best golf of my life last summer with the 4.0) from the PR4 is durability. After running a full range session on the Skytrak, the PR4 looks very different from the 4.0, I can still go play that PR4 on the course where I would not be able to play the 4.0 after the same session. I am extremely impressed with the PR4!!!!
I can't wait to get the PR4 out on the course over the next few weeks...Part 2 to come!!

PR4
I was skeptical. However, after a bad experience with another make of ball that was advertised as soft, I decided to try the PR4. No I do not have the recommended swing speed, I’m 72 and swing in the low to mid 90’s. But I am pleasantly surprised with this ball. It’s TOUGH…. 36 holes now and no visible marks. It is Long off of the tee. The stoping distance with wedges is reasonable because of my club head speed, but still controllable. It did have a lower, more penetrating flight that helped with driver distance.. even the off center hits. I may try the PR3 at a future date, but as of today’s round, I am very pleased. The newer color of yellow is an improvement..
