I've been playing golf for a long time. Played Prov1 up until a couple of years ago, until I just didn't want to pay the price anymore. Been playing the Legato 3085 for a while now, it's a pretty good ball. I got the Tour test pack and it worked very well. Both the 3.0 and 4.0 felt great, no major issues with durability it lasted longer than a lot of "Tour quality golf balls " I've played. Price is very reasonable, so I bought 5 dozen of the 3.0.
I saw the add about how good the golf ball was, I decided to try the Tour Test pack. after hitting them I was very impressed with how that felt. I recommend trying the Test pack to see what ball is best for you.
Played 9 with the 3.0 and 9 with the 4.0 today. I usually play TaylorMade TP5 and 5x. I didn’t see any drop off in distance off the box. The 3.0 I hit straight, which was a problem I play a fade off the box and ended up in the left rough my first 3 drives. Ball tracked well though. A little clicky when putting compared to the softer TP5. The 4.0 definately was longer for me and cut thru the air on a windy day without hesitation. I think I liked the 4.0 off the box better and putting with it mildly better. For the cost, these are it seems every bit as capable as any ball. Recommend giving them a go, the test pack is perfect to gather an opinion.
I began playing golf again after a 15yr layoff. I had no idea what balls to play anymore and wanted to try the Snell. The test pack was perfect. I switched between the 3.0 and 4.0 over a few weeks on the same course to get a good feel for each ball. Ended up liking the 4.0 slightly better, but reality is I could play either with no problem.
I wish more companies would offer test packs like this. Much better than buying a full dozen to test.
I'm a mid handicapper and of course I do slice the ball on occasion. Generally play the Srixon Z Star golf ball it does have a higher spin rate compared to your snell ball. I love it but do slice it on occasion, but generally the response of that ball is great. So I thought it's winter time in Sacramento ,Ca. ( spring like in other states) and I seen advertisements for the ball and the price on top of that attracted me. Anyway I've played 2 rounds with the 3.0 - 3 piece urethane ball and was impressed, having less spin on the driver has given me play in the fairways and had great length as well. I will be trying the 4 .0 tomorrow and giving it a ride. we'll see what happens. Regardless I may be moving to this ball company.
